Canada’s largest city is well-known as the third largest theatre centre in the English-speaking world – New York and London having stated their claim to first and second place many years ago.

And perhaps nowhere in the city is this more apparent than in the Entertainment District.

In fact, the range of venues is quite astounding. There are huge 2,000-seat theatres for major productions and touring musicals; mid-sized theatres featuring internationally-known comedy troupes (Second City); drama and dinner theatre; and concert halls for symphony, dance and opera, as well as the Roger Centre and Air Canada Centre for music concerts.

There is also the vast Hummingbird Centre, host to many large touring Broadway productions. Concert halls range from the spectacular Roy Thomson Hall to the intimate 200-seat Glenn Gould Theatre/Recording studio in the CBC national headquarters.

From stage to stage, The District is the best seat in town!
